Hire or Reward:
Whilst there is no legal definition of 'hire and reward' in the Goods Vehicles (Licensing of Operators) Act 1995 - it is generally taken to mean the receipt of payment in exchange for the transport (commercial carriage) of goods (the title of the goods being not that of the Goods Vehicle Operators Licence Holder regardless of whether a profit is made or not). The payment may be a direct payment or an indirect payment (this could be an exchange for services, for example).
